Is it possible to decrease the time it takes to boot up and shutdown. Coming
from Windows Me I could boot up in about 10 seconds and shutdown instantly
but XP seems to take about 30 + seconds in and 10 + out. I see theres an
option of automatically logging and replacing the login with a Welcome
screen or vice versa (log in but lose Welcome screen). Is it possible log in
automatically and not have the Welcome screen either just go straight to
desktop?
One other while Im at it ever since I installed XP last weekend I have
received several emails each day about XP critical updates, advice etc, with
attachments. Is this a conicidence as I never received XP related emails
before I installed XP. Is someone doing a blitz virus mailshot? Maybe Im
paranoid but Im getting the feeling someone somewhere who knows or is
obtaining my email also knows Im using XP and it aint just microsofts
accountants.
