When I am opening a file the "Open" window appears and below there is the
"File Name" dailog box. When the "Files Of Type" dialog box, (below the
"File Name" dialog box) indicates "media files (all types)" and I click on
the arrow at the end of the "File Name" dialog box, I am presented with a
list of media files that no longer exist on my computer. Sooooo, is there
anyway I can clear that dialog box? get rid of that list.

Any help appreciated, thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\
CurrentVersion\Explorer\ComDlg32\OpenSaveMRU

Find the subkey extension in question, right click, delete. Then hit
refresh while still in Regedit.

To clear all of them:

Clear File Name MRU - Line 279

Hi Bob,

You may use MRUClean and clear the common-dialog box entries.
