My install failed to find the existing configuration
(Win98) and installed without finding the existing
program apps. (They are still in the "Program Files"
folder but not on the programs menu). How do I fix it.
It also can't find the modem. Will an update driver fix
this?

Hi,
You will need to install the software under the new system.
What does Device Manager tell you about your modem? Tried the add new
hardware wizard yet?

Thanks for the reply.
Most of the software is downloaded. To download again at
the guy's dial-up modem speed would take DAYS. I was
hoping to avoid that. Besides, I can't do that until it
can wake up the modem.
The modem could not be found by PnP. I manually picked a
generic 56K setting but it still can't find the modem.

You probably will need to download a lot of the programs
again anyway because of different XP requirements.
