No Audio on Windows XP

Hi - hope someone can help.
I am getting no audio from my PC. The master volume is
grayed out and there is no icon in the taskbar. I have a
Delta 1010LT soundcard. I have reinstalled the soundcard
and the PC recognises it but I still have no audio!
Appreciate some advice. Thanks
