A couple of weeks ago NOD put out an update that really
messed things up. I had to remove NOD32 then download an
older version. Due to some of the problems that I had I
also did a system restore. Now when I shut down I have a
couple of programs that don't want to end. One is
[devldr32.exe] which is connected to SoundBlaster sound
card. The other is HPlamp.exe. I have an HP scanner.
Could these shut down problems be caused by Windows? I
have XPSP1a Home Edition. I would appreciate any help.

William, try uninstalling and then reinstalling the software for
Soundblaster and scanner.
