BJ, you got a whopper on your line. Check your system
resources. SP1 will refuse to load if low. It is very
important you get SP1 up because of the myriad of updates
you need that will follow.

What system resources are you talking about? "Low resources" is not a
problem in XP.

To install SP1, enough drive space for the new files is needed. Good idea
to turn off antivirus programs for the installation too. Suggest
downloading the EXE file or ordering the SP1 CD instead of using the Update
site.
