View Full Version : Speaker in Notification Area

I keep losing the speaker icon for the volume control in the Notification
Area! Sometimes it comes back if I do a restart, but tonight I've done a
restart three times and it still isn't there, plus I can't find a place to
enable it. I have Windows XP Home Edition and I'm using a Soundblaster
Audigy 2 sound card.

Thanks!

Go to "Control Panel"- Sound and Audio Devices) and check the box
marked "Place volume icon in the taskbar"

Why do you even use the native Windows mixer? Use your Creative mixer, and
put an icon for it on your QuickLaunch area.
DOH!!

Hi,

Common issue in XP. Once you get it in the Notification Area, run this
edit:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
