View Full Version : hibernation failed, ps/2 keyboard driver is not allowing the device to hibernate

when a cust tries to put his system into hibernation he
gets this error message "hibernation failed, ps/2 keyboard
driver is not allowing the device to hibernate, update the
driver". No external devices are connected. any
suggestions please

Yogesh,
Two things. first go into 'Control Panel', then 'Power Options', then
click into the 'Hibernate' tab. 'Enable Hibernate. should be checked. Then
from the Control Panel click 'System', then 'Device Manager', right-click on
the keyboard and click on 'Properties', 'Allow this device to bring the
computer out of standby' should also be checked. If these two things are
already done then you will need to upgrade the keyboard driver like the
error message says to support these features.
