View Full Version : telnet local echo

The telnet client delivered with windows xp seems to
disable 'local echo' whenever an IAC sequence is sent by
the server. The IAC sequence to turn local echo back on
(IAC WONT ECHO) (which means the server won't echo so the
client is supposed to do it) doesn't seem to work. Anyone
knows a way to get the server to convince the telnet
client to use local echo without the user having to
type 'set localecho' in the command mode?

have you tried hyperterminal? it may be a tad smarter than the old command
line version.
