Can't enter standby when connected to Internet

While my computer is connected to the Internet (via DSL), it is unable to
automatically enter standby mode by itself. It works just fine when not
connected. Standby can also be invoked manually at any time, whether
connected to the Internet or not. Anyone know of a fix?

Update the driver for your DSL modem or NIC.
