View Full Version : Trouble Turning Off Computer

In XP Pro, when turning off computer, it won't shut down
right away. Box pops up and has to end a program that
doesn't respond. "IncovaHdnWindTmp_32863828" is what
shows in the box. Once windows kills it, computer turns
right off. I just upgraded from XP Home to Pro. Also, the
turn off screen is just like it was in XP home. I was
under the assumption the screen should look like the
Windows 2000 shutdown screen. Any help on either item?

Hi,
Whatever it is, it doesn't look good. Update AV software and run a full
system scan. Start/run msinfo32, expand the software environment and click
on the startup programs. See if you can locate where this is loading from.

I am having the same thing, I have run my anti-virus and
deleted everything that i have installed recently. I
have looked throughout the computer and cannot find any
program or files with this name. Also each time I shut
down the computer the numbers at the end of the file
change. Any other Ideas???????????

Hi Tim,
This edit automatically ends tasks and timeouts that prevent programs from
shutting down and clears the Paging File on Exit.
