My son tried to upgrade his Windows 2000 operating system
to XP Pro. The system will not come back up. Gets hung up
on Starting Windows Setup screen. Boot Options are
Microsoft Windows XP Setup or Cancel Windows XP Setup.
Cancel setup option will only allow Millenium to boot in
safe mode. Can anyone help ?

I'm a tad confused after reading this, first you say your upgrading Windows 2000, then you say you using Windows ME, clarification
please.

Here's my two cents. I've rarely had luck upgrading over an
existing operating system. Will work for awhile then start crashing.
I know you don't want to, but you may have to re-format the
hard drive and install XP from scratch.
