In the last two to three weeks when the computer is
turned on there is an audio message that is announced as
the user login screen is displayed, It says " tar path is
loaded ". What is this related to??? Is it something to
be concerned about?

Buzz,
See www.dougknox.com, Win XP Utilities, Startup Programs Tracker. This
small utility scans your system for startup programs and running processes.
It also allows you to create a log file that can be copied and pasted into a
newsgroup post. The contents of the program window are also copied to the
Windows Clipboard, automatically.
You can paste the results of the log file into a reply. So far,
everything I've been able to find for "tar path" or "tarpath" seem to be
related to Perl scripting on web servers, typically ones that run on Linux,
but may apply to others that run on Windows systems as well.

Thanks for the help, tried the startup utility, worked
good, the audio message was from the UPS connecting.
