I have OE and I am getting a lot of those
bogus 'microsoft virus emails'. How do I delete the
message w/o clicking on the message, which dowmloads the
virus to my computer?

Clicking on the message doesn't infect you. You get the virus by
executing the attachment the message contains.

Clicking these particular messages will not download the virus to your
computer. These messages have a file attached to them that contains the
virus payload. Delete the message and do not save or open the attachment and
you will be safe.
Some options you can use in OE. Open Tools/OptionsRead tab and select the
"Read all messages in plain text" then click on the Maintenance tab and
select "Empty messages from the Deleted Items folder on exit" option.
Do not trust any attachment even if it is from your very best friend. Do not
open any attachment until you have scanned the file with an anti-virus
program that has the most recent reference update.
