I'm recently replaced the motherboard under warranty from
gateway. Computer cam with ME, but I upgraded to xp pro a
few months ago. I can not reload XP, it does not
recognize the ME restoration disk from gateway, loading Me
doesnt make any differece. I can't request free support
from Microsoft because I can't get a product id until I
load XP. What can I do? Thanks in advance

It sounds as if you purchased the XP Upgrade CD. You will have to reinstall
Me, since you have a "recovery" CD, then re-upgrade. If you have any other
qualifying product (95/98/98SE) CD around, you can use it as proof of
eligibility, but it must be a fully installable version, not a "recovery"
CD.

You will have to go back to gateway. These propriatory
systems are usually BIOS locked. They should have given
you a new set of factory restore disks that match the BIOS
in your new mainboard.
