View Full Version : Search - utility fails

In Windows Explorer I expand the C:\WINDOWS-folder and
there I see for example the file clock.avi.
Then I right-click the WINDOWS-folder and
select "Search...".
In Search-utility I type "clock.avi" in the "All or part
of the file name:"-field.
I check the "Search system folders", "Search hidden files
and folders" and "Search subfolders"-checkboxes.
And then click the "Search"-button.
And the result is "Search is complete. There is no result
to display".
But I know there is when I look directly in the folder.

Why?
Help me to get the search-utility to work!

Hi Tor,

Copy and paste this into Notepad and save, then enable/execute.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avi\PersistentHandler]
@="{5e941d80-bf96-11cd-b579-08002b30bfeb}"
