windows problem

Can anyone help?
For some reason, my Windows XP Professional 2002 service
pack 1 has a glitch, Adobe won't install/run properly and
some window panes freeze up. When I go to re-start, I
get a "Font Capture" not responding message. Does anyone
know how to fix this?
