Icons on desktop

I can not get my icons or folders to open on my desktop. I
also can not get my coputer to open from the start menu.

If this is a recent issue, you might try using System Restore to take you
back to a time prior to when this began. Start\All
Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore.

If you are unable to access it from your start menu, try accessing it
through Safe Mode. Boot your system, start tapping F8, select Safe Mode and
press enter.
