Appliciation problem

Hi I did some up dates for my Windows XP and I think I
download the wrong thing I have a Compaq 5000 with no CD
burner ... if that helps .. when I shut down every time
there is a message that says Application oxc000142 was
not installed properly how can remove or repair this
please I tried to read the windows help topics and
etc... and went throught the messages plus I am not for
sure I posted this on the right board first time using the
news group any help will be appriciated thanks for your
time ... Bev

Hi Beverly,

What updates? Check the Control Panel/Add & Remove for recent hotfixes.
Select recently installed ones and click change/remove.
