Myself in Canada and my brother in the UK cannot get any
audio using Messenger and our web cams. We both have
Windows XP Home, both have all updates for Messenger, XP
upto date as well as our camera software which is logitech
Quickcam Pro 4000. I use a cable connection and my brother
uses dial up. Sound card, microphones, audio settings
have all been checked and are correct. I am not
experienceing any other audio problems with the CD etc.

I see on an earlier note that turning off the QoS Packet
Scheduler may help.

Will this do anything significant to my system? - I am a
total novice and dread doing anything to the system setup.

Thanks.

Elaine,

I had this too, and indeed I had the same problems with MSN Messenger which
I discovered were related to firewall software. I have tried giving all the
permissions to messenger in my firewall software but it makes no difference.
All that did solve it was to turn it off while using messenger. However,
then I discovered that the connection would break every 2-3 minutes.
