I have Microsoft Windows XP Home edition and recently it
has gone insane. Every single time I boot it up, it
starts trying to install "Windows XP for teachers and
students," and I can't get it to stop! Of course, it
never finishes installing, because it also always asks me
for the disk -- which of course I don't have! Like I
said, I have the HOME edition, but recently my computer
seems to have forgotten that. I tried resetting the
system to a date when I WASN'T having problems, but even
THAT didn't help! No matter what I do, my computer always
tries to install that version when I boot up now, and I
don't know why it does because I NEVER tried to install
such a version. And I had my computer for WEEKS before it
started doing this, so I'm really stumped as to why it's
gone mad. HELP ME PLEASE!

By chance is there a CD of some sort in the drive?

(ps. don't mess with changing the date. before doing anything, change
the date back to a "real" date/time now.)
