Can't access web sites

[Ian Clear]

For some reasom my browser refuses to connect to some web sites such as
www.microsoft.com, www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com and www.bt.com

I'm running Norton Internet Security on an ADSL line but I haven't changed
any setting on this.

Any ideas?

Just as an experiment, see if the links below work for you or not:
http://www.microsoft.com
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://www.bt.com
Let us know how they work.
And can you confirm that other websites do connect OK?

Ian, try deleting your temporary internet file in Internet Options. I've
had similar problems cured by doing that. Can't hurt.
