View Full Version : Windows Messenger 5 - Windows XP sp2beta

After installing SP2 beta from MSDN SIP no longer appeared in messenger as
an account option. A repair on messenger brought back the SIP account
settings in options but not my contacts nor the ability to add new SIP
contacts (only shows exchange).

Anyone have any ideas? Messenger setup will not allow me to remove only
repair.

Greetings Trevor,

Keep in mind the Windows Messenger 5(5.1) version in SP2 is actually 4.7.3000. You should be
able to install Windows Messenger 5.0 on top:
http://tinyurl.com/ohq3 which should give you all this functionality back.

Running the 5.0 install only gives me repair and remove options.

Hi Trevor,

It didn't when I tried it, but try a Repair. If you open up the main Messenger window, click
the Help menu, then About, which version do you have?
