Is there any way to set a default program for a file
without an extension? Basically I have a bunch of images
on an AS400 without extensions, and want to be able to
open them without copying them somewhere else and adding
an extension.

Hi,
No, there isn't. Without an extention to define it, there is no way for the
system to know what program to use to open the file. Right-click/"open
with.." is the best you will be able to do.
