need help with updates

My computer isn't downloading my windows update it keep
saying my active x control setting prohibits running this
page.

Place the Windows Update site in your trusted sites list (Internet Options>
Security> Trusted Sites). If you continue to have trouble, see the "Get
Help and Support" links at the update site. They are in the sidebar on the
left. There you will find an online troubleshooter that contains answers to
the most common problems with the update site and a link to the newsgroups
that area specifically for Windows Update questions.
