Somehow I have messed up my desktop icons. Instead of the
icon labels having a transparent label and text
background, the background color is the color in Advanced
options on the Appearance tab in Display Properties (in
my case Windows blue). I believe I did this by
inadvertently attempting to move a photograph from
Windows frontpage to the desktop.

How do I correct this? The photo I tried to move to my
desktop is not on my desktop.

thxs,
Don

Hi,
Right click on my computer>Properties and flip to the advanced tab. Clicked
on settings under "performance" and scroll down the list of effects and put
a check next to "Use drop shadows...."
