View Full Version : Monitor won't go into suspend

I must of made a change to my system along the line that prevents my
monitor going into suspend or displaying a screensaver. No matter what
option I select in display properties screensaver I cannot get it to
work. I have checked through the registry but have been unable to find
the right settings to modify. I am using Windows XP SP1 with all the
latest patches. I know that there have been some issues with recent
patches but I can't find any reference to these particular symptoms.

Can anybody point me the right direction?

TIA

Hi mark,

Changed display drivers lately? This problem is almost always related to a
problem with them. Two things to try: Visit the web site of your video card
maker and get the latest full driver set for your card. Or, if you've
already done that, revert to an older driver set as the newest ones may be
the problem. You can uninstall (rollback) the last driver installed from the
properties of the video card in device manager.

Rick,

Spot on! I had forgotten that I had upgraded my Nvida drivers as the
problem did not appear to be coincident.

Thanks for your help.
