If one has the firewall that is supplied with XP enabled is it neccessary to
run another firewall and can two be run together if it is. I took mine
through some of the tests online and it is blocking all of the ports. I did
of course some of the services tweaking that was suggested by a friend but
am wondering if I should run a firewall with the one supplied?
TIA

It depends on how you use the PC. The built-in XP Firewall monitors and
blocks incoming traffic only. Any outbound traffic is not monitored. If you
use strongly disciplined safe practices when operating the PC, the built-in
firewall provides enough protection. There are several free, third party
firewalls that can co-exist with the XP firewall like Zone Alarm. ZA
provides more options like monitoring email attachments, etc.
