I'd like to know if Office2000 will work in Windows XP (either XP Home
or XP Professional).

I have Windows 98SE and Windows 2000 Access apps that I need to run
but if I switch to XP, can I install Office2000 onto it?

Thanks for any advice.

Yep, sure does!

If you upgrade overtop of Windows 98 you will likely have to reinstall your
Office 2000 suite again after the upgrade but yes it does work fine in XP. I
just set a system up with XP Home and Office 2000 yesterday.

I installed Office 2000 Professional (includes things like Access and
Powerpoint) on XP Pro - runs fine. I DID keep the Word 2002 that was
pre-installed on the machine, though. As others have told you, make
sure you grab all the patches. Note: They're NOT directly on the
Windows Update site. You go to Windows Update as normal, then click on
the "Office Update" at the top of the page somewhere :-)
