Since you've purchased a full version (better!)you can't
upgrade your win98.
You could install winXP in a dual-boot set-up next to
win98, but you can't install them on the same partition.

I assume you only have one drive (C)...besides you
probably don't need win98...so you will have to format
your C drive before you can install winXP. You should get
this option when you start the winXP CD.
Back-up all your important win98 files to a CD, because
they will be gone after format C.

This is *not* correct. The full version can do either a clean
install or an upgrade.

Only the OEM version is limited to a clean installation, and can
not do an upgrade.
