service pack 2

I have tried to find out when the XP service pack 2 is
coming out (not Office) but i cant find any part of the
microsoft site to tell me, any ideas

Nobody knows for sure. Microsoft's current estimate is mid-2004,
but that's just an estimate.

I have fixes from Microsoft called Windows XP Hotfix(SP2).
Are these files not Service Pack 2 ?

No, despite the confusing terminology, they are not. Service Pack
2 has not yet been released. Microsoft currently estimates that
it will be released in mid-2004.

These hotfixes are candidates to be included in SP2 when it is
eventually released.
