Event sounds not working

I have set up my computer with 3 users, fast user
switching is in use. I have recorded 2 sounds and want
them to play when I switch user. I have set the sounds to
the Windows XP Logoff and Windows XP Logon sounds, but
they won't play. I have tried various permissions, making
the file accessable to all, yet I still can't get it to
work.

Please help!

Do they play when you select them in Control Panel, Sound?
