The way XP works, if you plug in a USB memory device
(either something like a Lexar JumpDrive or a Sony
MicroVault) Windows gies you a notification asking what
you want to do (play a .wav file, explore a folder, Take
No Action).

Even if you check "Always do the Selected Action") you
get the automatic notification each time you plug a
device in.

Is there a way to turn this off?

You can o this in TWEAKUI.EXE > My Computer > AutoPlay > Types.
TweakUI is available from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp.
