I think my file naming convention for all my files from
from previous computer exceeds the limit for Windows XP
on my new computer. I was on XP before and did not have
any problems with it. Now my windows explorer and any
programs I try to use to open any of the files with long
file names simply closes and gives me an error message.
I can't get to those files. Is there a setting in
Windows XP that would allow for o9r recognize files with
long file names? Anyone know anything abt this, pls.
help!

Hello Kate,

Are these filenames (including filename-extension) longer than 255 characters?
