cannot install WindowsXP

I have an asus motherboard A7N8X-VM with an AMD Athlon XP
2500 processor.I tried to install an earlier version of
XP.It is giving me some hardware erorr ,related to file
win32.sys.
should i get a new version of XP?
will the new windows XP64 support my motherboard?

get a new xp computer.
