Hi

A couple of things I need help with please.

1. Does anyone know why I have to go through the shutdown procedure twice to
shut down Windows? I have tried shutting down all running apps, with no
success. I have shutdown all apps in the task bar one by one to see if one
of them was causing a problem, with no success. When I had 'ME' I had
virtually the same apps running, had no problem then. Is there a patch or
something that will close all running apps and shutdown in one go?

2. I have 2 computers networked together, 1 called 'upstairs' and 1 called
'downstairs'. When first set the network up there were no problems, I could
share files from either computer and also the 'downstairs' PC (which is
running ME by the way) also shares the broadband connection on the
'upstairs' PC. The problem I have got now is that the 2 PC's cannot see
each other even though the internet connection is still working on the
'downstairs' PC, which shows there is still a connection, but as far as
sharing files and printers go I just can't get them top see each other.
They are both on the same workgroup, I have tried doing the home network
wizards, but nothing I do seems to fix the problem. I don't know why this
has happened as I haven't changed any settings.

Grateful for any help that anyone can give me.

Thanks

Tyma,

1. This could be a faulty driver. I think you should update one or more
device drivers.

2. Do you have a firewall installed on both pc´s? See that the IP adresses
of both computers are in eachothers trusted zones. When running a third
party firewall (such as ZoneAlarm), you should disable XP´s built in
firewall.
