Search Companion error

When we click "start" and then "search" in Windows XP an
error message pops up that says something like "a file
required to run the search companion is missing. You may
need to run setup again"

Questions - Has anyone out there experienced this? Why
would the error message suggest that "I may" want to run
setup? I either do or do not and how the heck do you run
set up again anyway?
