Screensavers

I have download screensavers to use, but XP does not
allow you to browse for them. How do you install a new
screensaver? Thanks.

Have you tried...

If the ScreenSaver is a ".EXE" file, double-click the file

If the ScreenSaver is a ".SCR" file,

- Place the ".SCR" file in "C:\WINDOWS\system32" folder.

- Rename the ".SCR" file so that the filename begins
with the lower-case letters "ss", and delete any space
characters in the filename.

- Right-click the ".SCR" file, then click | Install |

By "existing screensaver", do you mean one which was supplied with Windows?

If it is one which you "installed",
- What is the name of the file?
- In which folder did you instal it?
- How did you instal it?
- Has this screensaver ever functioned in Windows XP, on your computer?

But, is there anyway to browse for an existing screensaver that does not show in the list of screensavers to pick from?
