cant install game on d: drive

I have a dual boot system with 1 boot on C: and 1 on D: drive. each drive
is locked out from the other so for instance if the D: boot wants to copy a
file to the C: drive -- not allowed. C: cant copy to D: either. ( I do
this so each boot can be independent and not affect the other)

Anyway, I am trying to install a game on the D: boot. It copies most of
the files to the d:\program files folder, but it wants to copy some files
to the C: drive and I get an error message "cant create folder" so the game
wont install.

I can install the game fine on the c: boot, but I need it on the d: boot.

Does anyone know how to set some switches or something so that the game
will know that it has to install on the operating system that is currently
running?

Make sure the path is correct. If so, manually create the folder before
hand and point the way. Good luck!

The game gives no option to choose folder, as I already said, it installs to
"d:\program files" which is the way it should be. Please read my original
letter, it explains it all.

Hard to believe a game made within the last 5 years won't allow you to
change the install path. Have you tried "custom" install? This
usually gives you the option of changing the path. Is the install
directory in an address box? If so, you can highlight it, and change
it manually. If the above two options don't help you............ my
advice is to throw the piece of crap away...... any game that is so
lame as to not allow the option of changing the install path is
probably more trouble than it is worth.

It does allow me to choose the install path, I select the default of
d:\program files but, like I said, about half way through the install it
gives an error "cant create folder" and quits. I am pretty sure it is
trying to create a folder on the C: drive.

I have seen this behaviour in another application. It was resolved by manually creating the folder before the instal, as in...
