copying XP hard drive

I have just got a new drive and am trying to copy my existing Win XP drive
onto the new one using Drive Image 7
All goes well with the new drive until the XP blue boot up screen just
before the Welcome screeen when the system hangs.
Tried booting in Safe Mode with same results.
All files seem to have been copied over OK.
Any ideas please

Is the new drive a lot bigger than the old drive? You might need to run a
