View Full Version : Help program

Have just begun with XP. In trying to learn and find
things, I continue to try "Help". What a disaster! The
instructions repeated refer to clicking on choices that
don't even appear on any of the screens I am sent to! It
appears the Help program of Windows 98 or some other
version was inserted along with the upgrade to XP. Is
this true...do others of you observe this too? Is there
anything to do about this?

have you 'set search options'
under options button in top bar.
use 'change views' to get full screen view
of help.
it is very good tool to learn things and also
search in newsgroups for similar words.

Thank you Carol for the "Options" clue. What I found out
is that the help search directions and info is for
Windows 2000. Cute. Is that my computer manufacturer's
doing? Is there no one else who has that problem? Lynne

An example of help screens going nowhere please? The help file is slanted
towards XP Pro and some features in Pro are not found in Home.
