HI there,

I was going to upgrade XP Home to Pro when I decided that
there wasn't enough memory. I quit the upgrade and
rebooted my machine. On the start up I see that I have a
choice of two operating systems. How do I remove the dual
boot? My boot.ini file has the following text:

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
C:\$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional Setup"

Can someone show me what sections of text need to be
modified so I can go back to a single boot system?

Thanks in advance,
D

Hi,

Your boot.ini should be like this.

[Boot Loader]
Timeout=5
Default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOW S
[Operating Systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft
Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect
