Whenever I try to save an image from the web it will only
let me save it as a .bmp. Option for file extentions does not exist as it
does when not on the Internet. Can anyone tell me how to change this?

Also, where do I see the answer to this question should a kind sole offer
the answer?

Have you got a graphics editor installed? Irfanview is pretty good.
