i can't find my microsoft-xp product-nr. on my computer.
bought it from dell, they didn't send a manual either, so
where can i find it? i need to contact microsoft, they
won't let me do it without the number.

Go to Belarc.com, download free advisor. It will tell you everything
about your system.

If your Dell system came with XP pre-installed, then it is an OEM version
and Microsoft cannot help you. Instead, you will have to contact Dell.

By the way, you may be able to download a manual from Dell's website. Worth
a shot.

If you bought the computer from Dell with XP installed it is OEM, and
Microsoft won't support it. You have to get support from Dell. The Product
Key will be on a sticker on the case of the computer, usually on the back.
