Does XP have any backup utility like Microsoft Backup in
Windows 98? How do people typically do backups with XP?
Please reply to
Thank you in advance.

You should always backup your computer. I use Norton Ghost for "complete"
backup's.

Almost the same application (NTBackup) with the addition of the shadow copy
service that allows files that are open or in use to be backed up.
The PRO version also has a new feature call ASR (automate system restore).
It will backup all the data on your machine as well as
your disk layout(s) and configuration(s) and restore it very easily.
Also...backup sets made on WIN98 to tapes can be restored on XP directly
using ntbackup. Backup sets made to disk on WIN98 cannot
be restored on XP with ntbackup. You'll have to use a third party product
for this.

The retail versions of XP both have a backup utility. In XP Pro, it is
installed by default.
In Home Edition, go to the valueadd\msft\ntbackup folder on the XP Home
Edition cd and
install ntbackup manually by double clicking the file.
