Hi
Start>Run - then type in "winword" - without the quotes. If Word =
doesn't startup, it isn't installed on your system. You can also access =
Word via Start>Programs>Microsoft Word. Again, if Word isn't listed =
then it isn't installed on your system. Windows XP doesn't include Word =
- you will either have to purchase a copy of MS Office - which includes =
Word - or you will have to purchase a standalone copy of MS Word:

"If" Works is installed on your computer:
-- Start
-- All Programs
-- Microsoft Works
-- Word
If Works is not there you will have to purchase
Works Suite OR Office. Compare these two before purchase.
Try "wordpad" in Accessories. Very handy but does not
have all bells/whistles as Word.

Hi, Audrey.
If your car came without a radio, then no amount of fiddling with the
switches is going to get you any music. :>(
Windows (any version) is an operating system - like a basic automobile
without accessories. Most cars these days come with radios, air
conditioning, etc., but if yours doesn't, then you have to buy the
accessories and add them on. Word is like one of those accessories.
Many computers these days come with software "bundled". My uncle's Dell
came with WinXP, plus the MS Works Suite, which includes both the Works word
processor AND MS Word. This is the second Dell he's bought this way, so he
thinks ALL computers come with Word installed - but they don't. Maybe yours
didn't. Check the documentation to see if it's supposed to be in the box
somewhere.
If Word did not come with your computer, then you can buy it as a standalone
product, or in MS Office (some versions are quite expensive), or in MS Works
Suite 2004. (Be sure it says SUITE; the basic Works includes its simplified
word processor, but not Word.)
If you DO have Word and can't get it started, post back here or - even
better - in one of the several Word newsgroups ("Communities").

Well, you have me confused. If you knew the answer, why did you ask the
question?

Lovely, now we have an "Audrey" and a "Papa" imposter. I intend to take
immediate action to report you to the Abuse center. I have your headers.
That's all I need.
