After reinstalling XP I have no standby settings at all,
Anybody know what to do to reactivate this

Hi Jason,
No standby usually means an incompatible driver. Your reinstallation
probably wiped a third-party driver and used either a Win-supplied one or an
older version. Start by reinstalling updated drivers for your hardware.

I agree with Rick.
My standby only appears after I install the manufacturer's driver for my
monitor.
It's greyed out when using the Windows driver.
