Hello all,

I'm running XP Home (Internet Explorer 6.0) and started running into a
little trouble lately.

I'm not sure what happened, but for some reason some sites won't allow me to
enter without telling me I need to reset my cookies. Sites I've visited many
times without problems have all of a sudden started doing this and I can't
get into many of them (even after following their requests). For example, I
have a paypal account and have never had any trouble getting in until
lately. I ended up having to add a specific paypal address into my "allowed
web sites" in my "privacy" settings in "Internet tools". I haven't had the
same luck with some other sites because I don't know the exact address I
need to "okay".

Some sites I have a password for will no longer let me use my password to
enter. It seemed like the site won't "recognize" me if that makes any sense
to any of you.

Another problem that occurred at the same time this problem started was in
Outlook. Outlook would no longer remember my passwords. I would have to
enter them each and every time I wanted to check for email. I was able to
solve that problem by deleting the identities in my registry, deleting my
email accounts, then re-entering them. After I did this (as recommended by
the Outlook newsgroup), Outlook is now working correctly again.

Does anyone have any idea what I could do to fix the issues I'm running into
using IE6.0. If anyone does has any tips, I would greatly appreciate them.

Thanks in advance...

Doug

I had the same problem. After I reset my settings and re-booted the sites
accepted my input. I think some of the 'security' updates screwed things up.
The more they 'improve' things, the worse they get it seems.

I have to agree with Doug, I downloaded the last "3" updates from MS, =
and had the same problem. I restored my system back to the day before =
the upgrade, and things started to work again. I have not tried to =
install the updates again individually, to find which "fix" caused the =
problem.=20
