I recently reinstalled XP on my computer. Upon completion
of the install I found that I could no longer connect to
the Internet. My settings for my connection were all
erased. I tried to set up a new connection but my computer
will not let me select connect through a phone line. The
only option that it will let me select is connect via
broadband. My modem is working properly and the computer
is recognizing it. I have reinstalled windows and even
removed and reinstalled my modem. Nothing is working.
Please help!

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\RasMan\PPP\EAP

Look for each of the subkeys named 25 and 26. Right click on each these
subkeys and select Export. This creates a backup, just in case. Then right
click on each of the 25 and 26 subkeys and select Delete.

Dial up Modem or PPPoE is Unavailable for small REG file that will delete
these two keys for you. Note: The REG file does not create a backup.
