Hi, all.
I've emptied my Temporary Internet Files and looked my temp internet files
properties (\Documents and settings\user\local settings\Temporary Internet
Files) and it shows folder is still 117MB. How can I make sure that folder
really *is* empty?
Thanks.

You are right. The properties of the Folder still shows the pre-delete space
and files used...
To find out if it is really empty open the Folder and have a look.
Hey presto... there are no files in the folder!
Reason? The files aren't really deleted. The disk space that they occupy is
flagged as being able to be overwritten and their entry into the FAT(File
Allocation Table) is removed.

Thanks, Rob. Is it the same on Windows XP/NTFS? In fact I looked up into the
directory from within a Cmd Prompt window (dir /a /p /s) and I saw there
were thousands of files with 0 byte length plus several other ones with
non-zero length. It doesn't indicate they are flagged to be overwritable
unless it's an NTFS feature I'm not aware of.

The 0 byte files could be from Outlook Express. One for each read message.
You can clear these when you delete your TIF files by checking the box to
"Delete Offline Content."
The TIF folder will never show as completely empty. The index.dat file used
by the browser will remain in place.

Thanks, Sharon. I'll try this.
